Colin Thompson

Colin Thompson, AIA, based in Rochester, New York, is one of the youngest licensed architects in the United States. He is recognized for his results-driven design approach, leadership, and commitment to sustainable architecture.

Colin graduated Summa Cum Laude from SUNY Alfred State with a Bachelor of Architecture degree, concentrating in Urban Design with minors in Construction Management and Business. He was honored with the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence, the highest student honor in the SUNY system.

Professionally, Colin has built extensive experience across multi-family housing, aviation, industrial, and civic projects, while also securing independent design commissions. His work is grounded in efficient, thoughtful solutions that respond to both client needs and broader design challenges.

Colin is an active leader in the architectural community, serving on the Board of Directors for AIA Rochester and mentoring emerging talent through the ACE Mentor Program and Architecture Explorer's Post, helping to shape the next generation of design professionals.
