Colin Thompson, AIA is a licensed architect based in Rochester, New York, recognized for a results-driven design approach that pairs strong technical rigor with thoughtful, people-centered solutions. His work reflects a strong commitment to leadership, sustainability, and design excellence across a range of project scales and typologies.

Colin graduated Summa Cum Laude from SUNY Alfred State with a NAAB-accredited Bachelor of Architecture, concentrating in Urban Design with minors in Construction Management and Business. He was awarded the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence, the highest honor bestowed across the SUNY system.

Professionally, Colin has developed broad experience across multi-family housing, aviation, industrial, and civic project types, while also delivering independent design commissions. His work emphasizes clarity, efficiency, and constructability—helping clients refine design intent early to achieve cost-effective, high-performing outcomes.

Beyond practice, Colin is actively engaged in advancing the profession. He serves on the Board of Directors for AIA Rochester, mentors students through the ACE Mentor Program and Architecture Explorers Post, and supports initiatives that expand access to architectural education and leadership opportunities. Through both practice and advocacy, Colin is committed to shaping a thoughtful, inclusive, and resilient built environment.
